Information for parents
As a parent you may be interested to learn about how Journey can support your child. There are both online and face to face experiences to explore for both your teen and for you as a parent.
Depending on the experiences, groups can be specific or mixed gendered. Our online experiences and retreats take place all year round.

A new way
You wouldn't expect a teenager to explore the complexities of math while travelling on the train. In the same way, we ask a lot of growing teens to explore the very personal and developing environment of their inner self whilst being in the classroom with mixed peers.
It works for some students, for others, aside from short term school counselling support and possible private sessions in a clinical private practice. There are few viable alternatives for a naturally curious young person to intentionally take time away to learn and develop their self awareness.
Teens especially are already searching & seeking information and guidance from many sources through their own technology and peer groups.
Journey believes this leaves a real gap for teen development.
It doesnt have to be this way and teens deserve an alternative. Our experiences are designed not only for the teens who are resilient and wanting to thrive above and beyond their peers, but also the teens desperate to discover the right environment to authentically have their voice heard and valued.

Power in the shared experience
All teenagers deeply wish to;
Be seen
Be heard
Be safe
...to explore and grow.
There is not a template for this. For some, a busy summer camp or classroom is simply not ideal.
At Journey we encourage teens to continue sharing and supporting one another beyond the first experience; shared growth is often the richest way to connect to our own uniqueness.
Online and outdoor Safety
Safety is our top priority during our online experiences and retreats. Our accredited counsellors and guides are committed to creating a secure environment where teenagers can explore and thrive. With a strong emphasis on safety protocols and supervision, parents can rest assured that their child's well-being is in good hands. All teens progress through a application process before attending online or in person.
